Oscar nominees were announced today. It will come as no great shock that Adaptation is in there a few times. To quote Cage-as-Kaufman, drumroll please - d-d-d-d-d-d: Charlie & Donald (Best Adapted Screenplay), Nicolas Cage (Best Actor), Meryl Streep (Best Supporting Actress), and Chris Cooper (Best Supporting Actor). Nothing for Spike. Thanks to Robert. Not that he's to blame for Spike missing out. I was just thanking him for emailing me about the Oscars. Robert, not Spike. So. Yeah.

More good news: nothing Charlie-related has been nominated for a Golden Raspberry. I thought maybe Human Nature was a slim, tiny, outside chance. Not that I think the film sucks. I haven't seen it. So don't email me about it. I'm just going by the puzzled reviews that accompanied its release. Although it wasn't in theatres long and got next-to-no publicity, so maybe that has a lot to do with it.
