I've never contributed anything to a website before, so try to bear with me and let's all hope I don't somehow destroy Michael's website. Actually there probably are a few things I wouldn't mind taking down. But his heart's in the right place, so I won't be that mean. I hope I won't be that mean, anyway. And I hope this will be whatever he expects it to be. Here I am already a paragraph in and I haven't uttered a memorable word.
I just wanted to say a quick hello to the people who come here. It's a little strange and overwhelming to know there are people who would visit, let alone build, a website all about yourself. When Spike mentioned it to me in mid-2002 I was kind of scared to look. It's bad enough knowing critics post reviews of my scripts before they're even in production. And to be honest, I still don't know what to think.
Thank you all so much for seeing my movies.
Before I go, since this is a news page I suppose I should supply some news. The last couple of years have been very hectic - I've had a lot of assignment work and everything seems to have been happening all at once. Lately to relax I've been learning to play the harp in my spare time. Once Spotless Mind is complete I'm hoping to take an extended break from screenwriting and embark on a brief tour with Spike and David O. Russell, who both play instruments. We'll be playing small clubs and are going to be called The 3. It was Spike's idea. I'm nervous about it, but since we'll be playing to audiences who have no idea who we are, maybe it will be fun. I've been trying to loosen up lately. It will almost certainly be a disaster.
If any of you have questions, Michael says to post them on the message board and I'll consider answering one or two.
